Last weekend came with 3 days of rain… This was excellent for the dry land vines, but not so good for some Chenin blancs in the Mountains. In some vineyards the total rainfall for the weekend was 33mm. This did not only stop our harvesting on Monday, but effectively slowed down this weeks harvest. The ripe berries slurped up every drop of moisture. However, this is just a temporary effect and I believe we will be going full throttle by Friday.
