Yesterday was a killer. 1300 tonnes came in and the winemakers had their hands full. Today will be no exception and I estimate that another 1100 tonnes would make their way from the vine to the tank if the rain doesn’t bother us too much. Just to put it into perspective – we run at maximum capacity at 1350tonnes per day – so yes, it was hectic. I must also just thank the farmers and the drivers who waited patiently in their trucks for their chance to offload their grapes. It just makes it easier for everyone in an already stressful environment if everyone stays calm and patient. The wine team are doing their best and might I add they are damn good at what they do!
