So, in my previous post we went to Groote Post Wine Estate to see how to ‘re-work” vines and give them about an extra 10 years of life. This year we will do 3 blocks. One Shiraz, one Sauvignon blanc and one Chenin blanc. Basically all we are doing now is cutting the vines off with chainsaws close to the ground. Then we seal the wounds with Tree seal. The real work starts in the growing season, but I will keep this updated.
