I wrote a blog post in March last year about Echalas vineyards in South Africa. More and more of this stunning trellis system is popping up all across South Africa. One of the most amazing developments I’ve seen is on the steep slopes of the Paarl Mountain, assigned to the House of KWV, managed by Marco Ventrella and farmer Freddie Kirsten. L’Ormarins and Riebeeksrivier are probably the two most iconic farms planted to Echalas. Some Grenache are planted like this at Fairview, Shiraz at Keermont, Shiraz in the Paardeberg  (where a few iconic wines are sourced from) – just to name a few other vineyards. This video is short, not edited to be dramatic or professional. It is just to show the beauty of these vineyards. Enjoy
