In honor of the words of Colonel Hannibal Smith, I’m proud to show these photos. This is the result of an over-enthusiastic viticulturist and a team of brothers willing to work together to create a fantastic result.
We pruned these vines ourselves with two pairs of Felco electric scissors and one Electrocoup. Normal pruning to ONLY two budding eyes was the goal. Vigorous suckering and a big effort to position the shoots vertical was the follow up. A final green harvest at the end of 2012 was the finishing touch. And this is the result. Magnificent.
We expect a very good yield and even better quality. The vines are in perfect balance and final ripening period will without a doubt be no problem for these Shiraz vines.
The rest is up to the winemaker.
