The Horsemen Wines
The Horsemen is a joint venture between The Blacksmith Wines [ Tremayne Smith ] and Visual Viticulture [ Jaco Engelbrecht ].
Jaco engelbrecht has worked with more than 3000 hectares of vineyards, covering an area of over 300kms. Jaco has witnessed the climatic challenges first hand, as well as the troublesome uncertainty of future climate change.
We made a conscious decision of creating sustainable wines, for the future and without meddling with nature.
We have chosen varieties which are well adapted, resilient to drought as well as the harsh south african summer temperatures, low rainfall and constant wind throughout the western cape.
Chenin blanc, Grenache Blanc, Carignan and Grenache Noir seem to be adapting to these apocalyptic times.
