The first bunches started appearing last week. Chardonnay, Chenin blanc and Pinotage have all budded nicely. Crop seems to be good, but like they say “Don’t count your chickens before they have hatched!” We had a good winter, so the vines have a lot of water to start with. I’m a bit concerned with the quality of pruning this year. We will have to do a lot of work during the season.
