It’s Go! time for the season. I’ve always wondered how fast vineyards grow. The rate of cell division must be staggering! I tried to read up if I can find a source to say a bit more about the growth rate of vineyards, but haven’t found one yet. One interesting find I came across was the fastest growing plant. Well, it’s actually an algae. Giant kelp grows at a rate of 2 feet (61 cm) per day! That’s astonishing! Some days it feels like the vineyards are trying to give this kelp a run for its money!

Some pics of Chardonnay close by Durbanville.
