Today I cannot write anything about our current harvest. It just doesn’t feel right. This past week a devastating fire has been raging in the Simonsberg area, Stellenbosch. The pictures you are about to see is nothing more that dramatic and heroic. It shows the willingness to cooperate. The need for each other. The relationship between farmer and farm worker and the dependency on each other and the courageous acts of the Volunteer Wildfire Services, the Fire Department, The South African Armed Forces and the many others I did not mention by name.
