Winter is here. The weather have changed and it is freaking cold. We had almost 200mm rain in a week and a half and the first snow is on the mountains. Very good news for us. The vines need the cold to go into rest (dormancy) in order for them to have a good budding season in September.
We started pruning the vines already. The quality of the 2013 harvest was better than 2012, especially on the red wines. Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage looks promising, with nice tropical Sauvignon blancs.
The focus for the next three months will be on pruning the vines correctly so that we have good fruit for the 2014 harvest.
