The 2014 harvest season is picking up pace now. Pinotage, Chenin blanc, Sauvignon blanc and Chardonnay grapes are coming in at a steady pace. Next week we will see a boom in Merlot, Sauvignon blanc and Pinotage. This weekend will be our first heatwave of 2014. Some vineyards will suffer but generally speaking I think the vines still look very good.
The season is about two weeks behind last year. The sugars are accumulating at a steady 1 degree balling per week. So next week the fireworks start!
